NG Events Ltd is licensed to manage the NextGen programme. Now in its 5th year NextGen was created by the Community Broadband Network (CBN). NG Events Ltd is directed by Marit Hendriks and Andrew Macdonald - the production and event management team that has successfully driven the programme since 2008.

The UK market for local digital access networks is exploding. Central government has allocated funding to trigger new infrastructure deployments and with support from their local government economic development departments, many communities are looking to see how they can ensure that their access networks will deliver faster local growth and a range of other societal benefits.

Some may see this as a simple upgrade to last generation broadband but others believe that it calls for a fresh approach. Building an entirely new infrastructure for enterprise represents a market worth over £3bn p.a. for each of the next 5 years. 

Some continental countries are already 5 or 6 years ahead of the UK and their pioneering experience may provide useful learning.

To what extent have you studied and understood these market developments and identified growth opportunities that are now open here?

NextGen 11 is the UK’s premier meeting place for all who are involved in this great endeavour - suppliers, communities, policy developers, investors and experts from across many economic sectors where our dependence on a high quality digital access infrastructure is increasingly understood.

Earlier this year the Minister for Culture Media and Sport said, “Just as technology drives globalisation, it also drives localization. These are revolutionary technologies. And they are helping to send out a signal that, when it comes to innovation in a rapidly globalising world, the UK wants to be first and wants to be best.”

NextGen 11 is an opportunity for you to be part of this transformation - not by waiting to see what others might do but by being part of the solution.

The conference will include inputs from across Europe and examples of new designs and projects throughout the UK. Located in Bristol the programme will feature local examples of creative media enterprises and Bristol’s new Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone. We also plan to feature many of the transformative public sector projects set to deliver better public services at lower costs.

NextGen 11 is designed for those with a keen interest in making universal Next Generation Broadband a reality. We welcome key influencers and senior staff in Local Councils, Local Economic Partnerships, Planners, Business leaders, Community & Voluntary Sector managers, investors and other Stakeholders.

The programme and workshops, the networking opportunities and access to many suppliers, will feature a host of new ideas and experiences, opportunities for debate and the provision of vital new information for those planning futures based on better broadband.

This is the 4th year of the Next Generation conference programme and, with the recent upsurge in activity, we expect to easily exceed last year’s attendance of over 300 delegates.
